Kim has worked with, Cambridge Social Ventures, the Fair Education Alliance and Educate to create GriffinOT’s theory of change. Our ultimate aim is that children with sensory, regulation and/or motor skill challenges will receive appropriate and adequate support in the classroom and at home. At the first level, our training provides educators and parents with the knowledge and confidence they need to implement supports for these children. Our second ambition is to see a systems change whereby additional training on special education needs is either included in teacher training programmes or becomes mandatory continuing professional development for all teachers. Kim’s final goal is to embed occupational therapy expertise into the school day through programmes and schemes of work that can be run by teachers.
