Sensory strategies use in classrooms

Sensory strategies are frequently used by educators to help children with sensory needs at school.  Kim is interested to understand more about how they are used by educators.  Within her online training – Sensory Aware with GriffinOT she asks participants about their current practices.

This poster was presented at the UK OT Show in November 2022.  It audits data collected from education staff regarding their knowledge and confidence before they complete the training. It includes a description of the current use of sensory supports in schools and how educators are measuring the impact of the sensory supports they are using.

Kim’s sensory training

GOT90

Kim offers training for therapists, parents and educators.   The GOT90 series is perfect for occupational therapists looking for short bursts of CDP.  The sensory series explores everything you need to know about using sensory strategies successfully.  The evidence series provides a quarterly review of current evidence being published in OT journals.

Sensory Aware with GriffinOT

The online sensory training is written for a wider audience.  It is a great starting point for occupational therapists with no knowledge of sensory processing. It gives a lot of tips for educators and parents as well.  Kim’s free introduction to the senses and the longer sensory aware training for those wish to learn online.  You can read more about the online sensory training here.
